Setup for WPspring for WooCommerce Sensei LMS Plugin
After activated, WooCommerce Sensei LMS Plugin will ask you if you want to install page needed for Sensei. Do it.
Find your newly installed pages under: Pages >
- Courses-Will automatically list of all courses you publish with Sensei.
- My Courses-Will automatically display to a logged-in user all the courses s/he is enrolled in
This feature — a page that automatically lists all ‘published’ courses — is extremely useful and not included with some other WordPress LMS Plugins.
Sensei adds new menu items to WordPress Admin menus:
- Sensei
- Courses
- Lessons
- Questions
WPspring for WooCommerce Sensei LMS Plugin: Settings
To review settings for WooCommerce Sensei LMS Plugin, go to Sensei > Settings
“General Settings” tab lets you do the following:
- Set ‘Access Permissions’ to require Users to be logged in to view Course Content
- “Disable Private Messages” between Teachers and Learners
- Choose a different ‘Course Archive Page’ or ‘My Courses Page’ from the dropdowns
“Courses” tab lets you define several course-related settings including:
- ‘Courses are Complete’-Choose from dropdown. Options are 1) after all lessons are complete or 2) anytime a user clicks the ‘Complete Course’ button
- ‘Display Course Author’-Check the box to display
- Set image sizes-For Course Archive, Single Course Image
If you want ‘Featured Images’ to display at the top of the Course Archive page, check the box next to ‘Featured Courses Panel.’
“Lessons” tab lets you define several lesson-related settings including:
- ‘Allow Comments for Learners’-Check the box to allow learners with access to a Lesson to post comments on the single Lesson page
- ‘Display Course Author’-Check the box to display
- ‘Course Image Lessons’-Check to display any ‘featured images’ set on Lessons on the Single Course Page.
- Set image sizes-For Course Lesson Images and Single Lesson Page Image
“Email Notifications” tab lets you define when emails should be sent and how they should look!
“Learner Profiles” tab lets you enable any of the following…
- ‘Public learner profiles’-Enable public learner profiles that will be accessible to everyone.
- ‘Show learner’s courses’-Display the learner’s active and completed courses on their profile.
“WooCommerce” tab lets you use WooCommerce to sell Courses by linking a Product to a Course.
Click the checkbox next to ‘Enable WooCommerce Courses’ to do just that!
Choose a Compatible Theme
Before doing anything else, you’ll want to install and enable a theme that is compatible with the WPspring for WooCommerce Sensei LMS Plugin
Go to Appearance > Themes. To install a new theme, click “Add New.” From here you can either “Upload Theme” that you have downloaded or ‘Search themes’ available free on WordPress.org.
WooCommerce.com lists several themes that are compatible with WooCommerce Sensei LMS Plugin, including:
- MyStile
- Canvas
- Superstore
- Upstart
… to name just a few!
